About Buying and Downloading
Q: I have both Windows and Macintosh systems and do not want to pay for each version. What do you recommend?
A: Buy the Macintosh PDF version, which will also work on Windows systems as well.
Q: I originally bought the Windows version and would now like to upgrade to the Macintosh (PDF) version?
A: The Windows and Macintosh versions are handled by different suppliers and it is therefore NOT possible to change your order from the Windows version to the Macintosh PDF version. All sales are final - sorry about that. However, it is possible to get your Mac to work like a PC so that our Secure eBook will work on it. Click here to download software to run Windows on Mac or Linux computers. Please note that we cannot provide any support for this software. We are currently offering an upgrade to the revised 2011 version of Nenah's eBook. You can use that offer to upgrade to the PDF version instead. Please see the email sent to eligible customers.
Q: I wish to use the eBook on my eBook reader (Kindle, etc.), will it work?
A: Although the Kindle does support PDF eBooks, it cannot currently support passworded files. This may apply to other eBook readers as well. As such devices are updated, it is possible that they will support our Macintosh PDF version in future. In order to determine if our PDF files will work on YOUR eBook reader, please download and test the following file on your eBook reader. If that works, then our PDF eBook (not the Secure-eBook version) will work as well. We are looking into making the Rife Handbook available in a special Kindle version shortly (possibly in Spring 2012).

Q: Is there a printed book available?
A: There are currrently no plans to release the Frequency Directory, or any other chapter, as a seperate printed book. The Sauna Handbook and the 2011 version of The Rife Handbook have been released in book form and can be ordered via our order pages. The eBook format allows us to offer you the "books", world-wide, at a lower price than the printed version, and with no shipping charges.
Q: I can see the sizes of the Sample eBooks, but how large are the Full versions?
A: The Secure eBook sizes we give are also the sizes for the entire eBook! That is, the sample files also contain the full eBook, although you will only see the sample pages until you activate it.
Let me explain this in simple terms using The Rife Handbook as an example:
http://www.nenahsylver.com/files/2011_Rife_Handbook_1download.exe (41MB)
When you download this file and run it on your computer, you will see the sample eBook which is about 208 pages in length. Let us assume you like what you see and decide to buy it. After completing your order, you are sent an activation key. That is a long string of characters which you need to activate the license for your eBook. As you have already downloaded the sample eBook, all you need to be is click on the ebook/Activate eBook menu and a little box appears where you can type in (or copy and paste) that activation key. Once you click on the Activate button, your sample file now reopens and you have the entire eBook. No need to download a seperate file as the Sample file actually contains the entire eBook (in fact that particular file contains both the entire Rife Handbook and the Sauna Therapy eBook.
With the Macintosh version, the situation is different. The sample file really is just a sample (that is why it is much smaller). When the customer buys it, he or she is sent a new file with the whole eBook.
Q: I downloaded the eBook, but I get an error message (e.g. "not a valid win32 application") when trying to open it?
A: The most common reason for this is that the file was not properly downloaded. This happens often with dial-up connections where the connection was stopped before the file was fully downloaded. We give the file size next to each downloadable file. If your downloaded file is smaller then you need to download the file again. For example, our Rife Handbook is 40.9MB and this will take some time to download on dial-up connections. Please follow our detailed instructions on how to download your eBook.
Q: I downloaded the eBook, but when I open it, I get a "Seek failed on" or "Unable to Activate" error (see pictures below)?
A: This happens mainly on PCs running Windows Vista when the eBook has been downloaded to a temporary folder (by clicking on Run instead of Save). Security settings on Vista prevent files in a temporary directory contacting our eBook server. Please download the eBook to your Desktop before running it and this should solve your problem. Please follow our detailed instructions on how to download your eBook.
About the eBook itself - Windows secure-ebook
Q: I received an email - What do I do now?
A: Please follow the instructions in the email. You will be directed to a download page where you will find full instructions. Detailed download instructions can be found here.
Q: Can you send me the eBook via email?
A: We sometimes receive requests from customers to email them our eBooks. This is usually the case with customers that have NOT followed our download instructions and simply click on the exe file (on our website) instead of downloading it first so that they can click on the exe file on their PC. In this case we recommend our customers to simply follow our detailed download instructions for their eBook, precisely. As our eBooks are large files, they are usually too large to send via email. Even if we could send you a zipped "exe" file, such files are often rejected by many email providers like gmail, etc. So the answer to the question is unfortunately NO, we cannot email you our eBooks, please follow our detailed download instructions, instead.
Q: I downloaded the eBook and it will not open in my PDF reader. What do I do now?
A: Our secure-ebook files cannot be opened in Acrobat directly. Please click on the .exe file instead, which will open your acrobat reader by itself.
Q: I clicked on the eBook (.exe) file, but it would not start properly!
A: This is usually caused by an old version of Adobe Acrobat reader being installed on your system. Before you can use our eBook, you need to have Adobe Acrobat version 7 or higher installed on your system.
Q: I tried to open my eBook and the window pops up and immediately disappears!
A: Until recently, Secure-eBook was not compatible with Adobe Reader X and this problem was caused by the incompatibiliy. This has now been fixed so if you have this problem, please download your eBook again.
Q: I downloaded the eBook and opened it, but it is only a sample - Where is my full eBook?
A: Our secure-ebooks display a sample until they are activated. Full activation instructions can be found here.
Q: I activated the eBook and got an error message: The specified activation key is not valid - How can I get a valid key?
A: First of all have you already purchased an activation key from us which you then received by email (e.g. it will look something like "FBEBN-42475-KGHH-0050-U0K0")?
If you have used the correct key and you are getting this message, you have downloaded the wrong version of our eBook (.exe file). Please download the eBook again, from the link in the email we sent you, and try again. This will solve the problem. You can also download the correct version from here.
Q: I downloaded and activated the Frequency Directory and can see the green "LED" in the top right hand corner. However, something must be wrong because it starts with Chapter 5 and I see page numbers 411- 611! Where is the rest of the eBook?
A: The Frequency Directory consists of Chapter 5 of the Rife Handbook of Frequency Therapy and is 208-pages in length (you will see the page numbers 411-605 which are the respective page numbers from the Rife Handbook it has been excerpted from). If you can see the green "LED" on the top right, then your eBook has been properly activated.
If you have the Frequency Directory and wish to upgrade to the full Rife Handbook (768 pages), you will find an upgrade offer at the bottom of your personal download page.
Q: I bought the Rife Handbook and activated it, but cannot see the Sauna book. Is there something else I need to do?
A: While viewing the Rife Handbook, click on the eBook menu (top left) and you will see both eBooks listed. Select "2) The Holistic Handbook of Sauna Therapy" and your Sauna book will be displayed.
Q: Why does each eBook page say, “LOW-RES, NOT PRINT READY" (watermark). Does this mean I can’t print my copy?
A: You can print your eBook. The lighter type in the background of each page is called a “watermark.” Having a watermark still allows you to print, in clear and readable type. If this file were given to a printer and binder of an actual book, the watermark lets the printer know that a different file should be used to print the actual book. If you see this watermark, we recommend you download your eBook again as a new version is available. This is particually important if you have The Rife Handbook as that has an added index as well.
Q: I can view the entire eBook at home, but when I take it to the printers to get a double sided copy, they can only see a few pages, not the whole eBook. What can I do?
A: The eBook has been activated on your home computer enabling you to see the whole eBook. When you take or send the eBook file to someone else, they do not have a license so they are only able to see the sample version. Remember, your license only permits you to print copies for your own personal use. There are 3 ways of getting your eBook to work on another computer (e.g. at your printers).
Take your computer (Laptop) to the printers, if they use your computer to print the document, they will be able to print the entire eBook.
Deactivate your eBook at home first and then take the file to the printers with your activation key. You can then activate the eBook on their system, print the book, and then deactivate it again. When you get home, simply reactivate your eBook once more.
If you have ordered more than one download license (up to 3 possible), and they have not all been used, you can use your key to activate the eBook at your printers (make sure they deactivate it afterwards). You can extend the number of permitted activations here (maximum of 3).
Q: I am having problems printing the eBook - What can I do?
A: As there are so many different types of printer available, you first need to check you can print normally from Adobe Acrobat Reader using a normal PDF file. If this does not work, then you need to ensure PDF printing works properly before contacting us. Please note that it is NOT possible to print to a PDF printer driver (which would create a new PDF eBook) from Secure eBooks or any secured PDF document.
If you can print perfectly from a normal PDF document, but not from your Secure eBook, then please check the version of Adobe Reader you are using. If it is less than 7, then you will need to upgrade before printing is possible, if less than 9 then we recommend upgrading to the latest version. If you are using a PDF reader that does not come from Adobe, please download and install the latest Adobe Reader on your system.
Please note that the print function under Secure-eBook only works with English and French versions of the Adobe Reader. If you have Adobe Reader installed in another language, you will have to uninstall it and then download the US version by clicking on the button below and then installing the new downloaded version of the Adobe Reader.
Q: I bought your eBook recently, and have now heard that an upgrade is available. Do I need to buy the eBook again to get these features?
A: If an upgrade is available to fix or improve some technical aspect of the eBooks, such upgrades are free of charge. To take advantage of these new features, simply download the eBook again. It is not necessary to reactivate your license after an upgrade. If we have released a revised version of the book itself (e.g. the Rife Handbook has just been fully revised to the 2011 edition), then such upgrades may be offered at an upgrade price. To download any upgrades, please visit your personal download page.

About the Hardcover Rife Handbook
Q: Is there a printed and bound Rife Handbook available?
A: The hardcover edition of The Rife Handbook was published in October 2011. It's available from Barner Books, which is Nenah's official Sales and Shipping Agent. They will ship the book to any country in the world.
Q: After buying the Rife eBook I decided I wanted the Hardcover version instead. How do I upgrade from the eBook to the printed and bound hardcover Rife Handbook?
A: It is not possible to upgrade or switch from the eBook to the Hardcover edition of The Rife Handbook. The Rife eBook and the Hardcover edition are produced and processed by two entirely different companies, so they are not interchangable. And remember, once an eBook activation code has been sent to you, there are no refunds. If you do purchase both the Rife eBook and the hardcover version, you are entitled to a free DVD as well.
Other Issues
Q: I tried to subscribe to the "RSS Feed" to be informed of updates, and just got a strange page
A: RSS Feeds are a releatively new way of keeping yourself informed about updates, news, etc. All current Webbrowsers have news readers built in to them. If you are using an older version of Internet Explorer than version 7, then it will not regognise the page and you will just see a list of codes. We recommend you upgrade your webbrowser to the latest version - a good idea anyway as such browsers are more secure and easier to use as well.
Q: I wanted to upgrade from the Frequency Directory, but do not know how.
A: In order to upgrade from the Frequency Directory to the full Rife Handbook, please go to your personal download page (you will find the url address in the email we sent you with your activation key). On that page, scroll down to the bottom and you will find instructions as to how to upgrade. The previous system we had with a separate login has been discontinued.
Q: English is not my native language. Is it possible to computer translate parts of the eBook into my own language?
A: Yes, if you have the full or Mac version of the eBook (not Basic). Simply mark the section you wish to translate, right click and select "Copy" (alternatively press and hold the Ctrl button and then press "C"). Now you have copied the text onto the clipboard from where you can paste the text into your favorite translation tool.
We recommend using the Google translating tool, pasting the text into the "Translate text" section, select English on the left and your language on the right and then click on "Translate". Please note that computer translations are not perfect and sometimes words are translated incorrectly.
Example of a Google Translation into German.

Hey Everyone—
For technical support, please go to Support Area.
Do not email Nenah Sylver for tech support.
Nenah is an author and wellness consultant,
not a computer maven. If you email her for tech help,
you’ll frustrate her because she’ll want to help you
and probably won’t be able to. Plus,
you’ll frustrate yourself because writing Nenah first
will delay your getting help and you'll end up
having to view the Support Area anyway.
We value you, our customers.
Thank you for your patronage.
Be well and happy.
